- Brush off dry spores (outside if possible)

Wear a mask if possible. - Soak in white vinegar solution
Mix 1 part white vinegar with 3 parts water in a bucket or sink.
Soak the affected clothes for 1 hour.
Vinegar kills most species of mold and helps neutralize the smell. - Optional: Add baking soda
For heavy fungus or odor, make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it directly to the stained areas after vinegar soaking.
Gently scrub with a soft brush. - Wash with hot water and detergent
Wash the clothes with regular laundry detergent in the hottest water safe for the fabric (check label).
Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle for extra mold-killing power. - Dry in direct sunlight
Sunlight is a natural mold killer – hang the clothes in full sun until they are completely dry.
Do not store the clothes until they are 100% dry.
